About Campus Ready Guide

Getting ready for college is exciting.

But once you get past the acceptance letter, the real-life questions start to show up.

What do they actually need?
What should we take care of before they leave?
What gets forgotten?
What do families wish they had figured out sooner?

That’s where Campus Ready Guide comes in.

Why I Created This

I’m a parent who has been through the college transition more than once.

And what I realized pretty quickly is that a lot of the stress does not come from the big, obvious things.

It comes from the smaller, everyday details that are easy to overlook.

Things like:

  • what to pack and what to skip

  • what happens when they get sick

  • what documents matter after they turn 18

  • what actually gets used in a dorm room

  • how move-in day really works

  • what families often learn a little too late

None of these things are meant to be complicated.

They just do not always show up on the standard college checklist.

What You’ll Find Here

Campus Ready Guide is a practical resource for parents and families preparing for real college life.

This is not an admissions site.
It is not a scholarship site.
It is not about test prep or college rankings.

Campus Ready Guide focuses on what happens after the acceptance letter — the everyday details that help families feel more prepared as students head to campus and settle into college life.

You’ll find help with:

  • before-college reminders

  • dorm and move-in planning

  • packing lists and smart buys

  • turning 18 and important documents

  • campus life logistics

  • student discounts and helpful resources

  • study abroad preparation

  • care package ideas and encouragement from home

The goal is simple: practical guidance that is useful, realistic, and easy to skim when you need an answer.

A Parent-to-Parent Note

Every student is different.

Every campus is different.

Every family handles college preparation a little differently, too.

So nothing here is meant to be the only right way to do things. Think of Campus Ready Guide as a place to gather ideas, reminders, and helpful next steps — then use what makes sense for your student, your campus, and your family.
